Millward Brown and our employees are firm believers in giving back to the community.
Our teams are proactive about this around the world. In addition to the fundraising efforts for local charities in each of our offices, Millward Brown has been very active, along with our parent company, Kantar, in supporting UNICEF globally since 2011. Together the Kantar group of companies has raised more than $1.2 million to help support projects in Bangladesh, Bolivia and Malawi, and we expect this number to rise by yearend.
Millward Brown has UNICEF champions around the word who, in addition to their individual job responsibilities, dedicate time to creating and managing a wide range of engaging fundraising events.
Our current UNICEF fundraising efforts are for the following three initiatives.
In Bangladesh 13% of children age 5-14 must work to help support their families. Our initiatives provide 600 of these children with the support they need to allow them to go to school.
In Bolivia 2.2 million children and adolescents are at risk for violence, crime, gang warfare, and drug abuse. The goal of our fundraising efforts is to protect these children from exploitation by improving their legislative rights, and creating special support units for victims.
In Malawi, one of the world’s poorest countries, 600,000 children have lost one or both parents to Aids. Our fundraising work supports 80,000 orphans by helping to fund 150 community centers (Children’s Corners) and schools.
