PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The Account Manager looks after all account-handling duties. These include liaison with clients and analysts by telephone and face-to-face, as well as the production of our media analysis reports. In addition, the individual will contribute to the ongoing and ad-hoc business development projects or related activities as required.

Millward Brown Precis is a leading-edge, international media content analysis company offering evaluation services to a wide range of blue-chip clients. We produce business reports on our clients’ media coverage, for target audiences ranging from communications staff to company boards. We have a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to work in our London office, servicing prestigious client accounts. Your work is likely to include automotive clients as well as other industries, such as utilities and financial services.

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND BEHAVIOUR

  • Experience of managing a portfolio of client relationships including meetings, presentations, and pitches.
  • First-class communication skills: this requirement includes verbal communication and personal presentation, necessary for your dealings with clients and colleagues.
  • Excellent report-writing skills: this requirement includes first-rate written English, spelling, and grammar.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills: you will be able to manage your own workload and to meet both regular and ad-hoc deadlines.
  • Professional approach to both back-office and client-facing duties. This includes enthusiasm for managing and exceeding the expectations of demanding corporate clients, together with a willingness to complete all tasks to a high standard.
  • Line management: you will in due course have the opportunity to take on responsibility for a junior colleague. Support and training are given with this.
  • Good team/company worker: you will be reliable and conscientious, displaying a can-do attitude and positive approach to tasks or challenges, in addition to your dealings with team-workers and all other colleagues. You will be keen to develop skills relevant to your work here and to continuously improve in your role.
  • Unflinching attention to detail.
  • Good IT literacy: while technical IT knowledge is not required, you will be comfortable using standard PC applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and you will be able to learn quickly how to operate our in-house database systems.
  • KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - What will you actaully be doing?

  • All account-handling duties. These include liaison with clients and analysts by telephone and face-to-face, as well as the production of our media analysis reports.
  • Contribution to ongoing and ad-hoc business development projects or related activities as required.
  • Assistance on request with any other aspects of our business at account-handling level.

    THE SELECTION PROCESS

    • Successful applicants will be invited to a first interview, at which you will also be required to sit some short, straightforward selection tests to assess your written and numerical skills.
    • Applicants meeting our criteria at this stage will be invited to a second interview, after which a decision on the offer would normally be made. Where further discussion is required, however, we may request applicants to attend a third interview.
