Millward Brown Appoints Adrian Gonzalez CEO, AMAP Region
June 03, 2013
Millward Brown, a global leader in brand, media and communications research, today announced the appointment of Adrian Gonzalez as CEO of the company’s Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific (AMAP) region, effective July 15. Gonzalez, currently head of Millward Brown, Greater China and COO of AMAP, will succeed Travyn Rhall, who was recently named Global CEO, Millward Brown. Gonzalez will report to Rhall and join Millward Brown’s global board.
Gonzalez, a respected brand research and insights executive, brings more than 25 years of industry experience to the role, nearly 20 with Millward Brown. An Australian native, he opened Millward Brown’s first office in the region – Sydney in 1994 – and expanded the company’s footprint, opening and leading offices in New Zealand, Japan, Vietnam and Korea. In 2006, Gonzalez was instrumental in launching Millward Brown’s joint venture in China, Millward Brown-ACSR, which is, today, the leading brand insights agency in China.
Rhall commented: “Our employees, clients and partners will benefit from Adrian’s extensive research background, deep experience in emerging markets and strong leadership skills – truly a unique and powerful combination. He is the perfect leader to ensure Millward Brown and our clients seize the myriad opportunities in the AMAP region and to lead the organization through its next phase of growth.”
Gonzalez said: “Under Travyn’s leadership, we’ve been on a great growth trajectory in the region, and I look forward to building on our momentum. We’ll continue to focus on developing AMAP’s best talent; on innovation, particularly in the digital and mobile areas; and on creating meaningful impact for our clients. I look forward to working more closely with the entire AMAP team in my expanded role.”
